National Minority Mental Health Month, also known as BIPOC Mental Health Month, was founded in 2008 by American author, journalist, and teacher Bebe Moore Campbell. Her mission is to bring awareness to the unique struggles that underrepresented groups face regarding mental illness in the United States.
